Gabriel Fauré Trois Mélodies arr. for Flute, Alto flute (Viola) and Piano
1. "J'ai presque peur, en vérité"
2. "N'est-ce pas?"
3. "Mandoline"
EDITION
The songs I have chosen, with their multi-layered musical texture,
are ideal for a chamber music arrangement.
The first two “J’ai presque peur, en vérité” and “N’est-ce pas?” come from
the collection “La bonne chanson” op. 61, the concluding third song belongs
to the “Cinq Mélodies de Venise” op. 58 and is entitled “Mandoline”.
The texts of all songs are based on poems by Fauré’s contemporary,
the French symbolist Paul Verlaine (1844 – 1896), and revolve around a
central theme: love.
The alto flute part of my arrangements can also be taken by a viola,
adding another colour. A separate viola part is included.
A preface in German and English rounds off this edition with helpful
information on the background of these compositions.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Zauberflöten-Trios arr. for 3 Flutes
1. "Der Vogelfänger bin ich ja"
2. "Ein Mädchen oder Weibchen"
EDITION
The composer Wolfgang Amadé Mozart (1756 - 1791) created a veritable world success with his opera "The Magic Flute" KV 620.
It was J. Emanuel Schikaneder himself who provided the libretto and at the same time took on a part in the first performance of The Magic Flute, namely the character of Papageno. Schikaneder was an actor, singer, director, poet and theatre director.
More than one reason to remember this dazzling figure of music history and at the same time to present Mozart's immortal melodies in trio form for 3 flutes. That is why I have arranged Papageno's two famous arias "Der Vogelfänger bin ich ja" (Act 1) and "Ein Mädchen oder Weibchen" (Act 2) for three flutes.
With my arrangements for flute trio, which are deliberately kept simple, I would like to reach a wide audience, especially students and amateurs. Last but not least, with this publication I am pursuing a didactic aim for fruitful chamber music lessons to promote interplay, intonation and the ability to shape the music.
